Marskstien hiking guide

Every year, hundreds of thousands of wading birds and migratory birds visit the Tøndermarsk – and you can experience this natural phenomenon up close. The Marskstien trail takes you through their bountiful feeding grounds and offers you a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in nature.

This hiking guide is your key to uncovering the stories behind each location along the Marskstien trail. You will be guided through the unique marsh landscape, introduced to cultural highlights, and gain insights into the rich natural environment. The guide includes practical tips for planning your hike, along with detailed maps dividing the Marskstien trail into three stages.

Additionally, the hiking guide features nine marked loop trails starting in Tønder, Højer, or Rudbøl – allowing you to tailor your trip to your preferences and interests. All loop trails are circular routes – you start and finish at the same point.
