On tour with the night watchmen in Aabenraa’s streets at Christmas
In November and December, Aabenraa gets ready for Christmas, with the market at Julehjertebyen down at the old railway station, and Lumagica, which puts on a magical lightshow in the park at Brundlund Castle. Combine a stay in Aabenraa with a historical tour through Aabenraa’s old alleyways and streets and listen to the night watchmen, dressed in uniform and holding a morning star, telling stories about how they used to have to enforce law and order in the town.
The tours start at the round wooden stage at the corner of Møllemærsk and Ved Slottet (at the entrance road to Brundlund Castle) and end down at the night watchmen square, where the night watchmen used to live.
The guided tours are in Danish.
