Benniksgaard was formerly an ordinary farm with dairy cows, pigs, arable farming. In 1979 took over Mads Friis with his wife Ingeborg Friis operation of Benniksgaard which they have operated as agriculture until 1997, when change really took off. Benniksgaard Hotel started out with only 11 rooms in the old barn in the summer of 2000. Since then, all buildings undergone a complete renovation. Today there are 64 rooms total in the farmhouse, the old barn, luxury holiday apartments and bed'inn. The old coach house and granary has been the reception and restaurant. Kornkamrene is now changed to conference and meeting rooms and lounge.
