2 nights with Sort Sol at Hotel Tønderhus with half board

Hotel Tønderhus is located in the heart of Tønder, just a 2-minute walk from the pedestrian precinct. We’re a proud 3-star hotel, which today has 58 rooms, 4 mini-suites, an à la carte restaurant and function rooms, whilst we offer weekend breaks, mini-breaks and gourmet breaks. We look forward to welcoming our guests to Hotel Tønderhus. 

Check-in is possible from 2:00 p.m. 

At 4:45 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. (depending on the date), departure takes place with Sort Safari to see Sort Sol, the fascinating and spectacular murmuration of starlings that occurs as the birds settle for the night. Remember your passport, as the birds may end up south of the Danish-German border.

The nature guides from Sort Safari guarantee good entertainment; they have plenty of tales to tell from the marshes and are ready to give you a fantastic experience in the unique surroundings. We recommend warm clothing for the trip, which lasts around 3 hours. 

After the spectacular natural phenomenon is over, Hotel Tønderhus will treat you to a 2-couse dinner in their restaurant.

On day 2 you can explore the area after breakfast.

Breakfast is served Monday-Friday from 7-10 a.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 8-10 a.m.

Check-out is at 11:00 a.m.

• Explore the Marsh path and Tøndermarsken

• Take a stroll down Tønder city and visit the art museum

• Visit Møgeltønder and Schackenborg Slot

• Drive to Højer and see the sluices 

In the evening a 2-course dinner is again served at the restaurant at Hotel Tønderhus.
